My name is Wahid Karimi and I am 16 years old and come from Afghanistan. In Afghanistan it was a war and we had to move to Iran. Then my uncle from Australia sent us a form to come to Australia and we are in Australia.
One day in school my teacher asked me if I wanted to paint a shoe and then I said o.k. and she choose me to be one of the people.
The colours that I put on my shoe are yellow and green. The yellow and green colours represent the Australian soccer team and also stand for the peace of each country. On my shoe I also put some words, ‘peace for life’. I think that’s a good thing to put on my shoe, because I know what war feels like.
