Mariam Jebara

Iam a 12 year old girl and my name is Mariam Jebara. And my personality is great. I like to do new things everyday as well as learn and I always like to experience different things. I came from Iraq and I was a bit affected by the war so was my family, because my dad was a soldier and 2 of my brothers were in the army so I think I know now what these shoes meant and why Stella Medaes chose to do them. Well as I mentioned before that I have had an experience of war before and it had always affected me and always will, because I feel like half of my family’s life including me, is already gone and it had dragged valuable things with it, but I always keep my head up and always look forward to the good future. I hope that when people first look at my ceramic shoe, they’ll think that there’s always hope and some colours that I have used, may tell others to look forward to the future because nothing will change the past!! The way that I made my shoe was by using some bright colours and drawing bright pictures to show that there will always be hope. I spent 4 hours doing this project and I didn’t feel like it was wasting my time because I wanted to do something like that to express my feelings about war and so it ended up great!! I want to pass a message around to everyone and that is: never look back to the past, even if it has affected you badly, so why not take a step forward and experience the life you ever wanted!!!!!
