My mother, Wanda Cane, made around 60 dolls, each different, during the 9 years she suffered from one illness after another.
My sister, Cheri Yost, brought our mother into her house and cared for her while she was bed-ridden. Cheri told mom about the shoe project and they decided to use one of her dolls to hold a shoe. Cheri made the sling. One month later mymother died and Cheri gave me the finished project.
This heartafelt collaboration comes with love from two of the finest women on the planet.
