The shoe has been gilded and placed protectively between two stuffed hands, linked by a cats cradle of metallic gold thread. I chose to use one hand to define some aspects of the problem as I ruminated upon them, and the other hand to propose a solution. The first hand is made from silk fabric,printed with the face of an Iraqi war refugee child, overprinted with the afore mentioned text. The second hand is crafted from cotton fabric with peace signs drawn upon both sides.
