As I was thinking about this piece, I was remembering the first part of the Desiderata- you are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars. That gave me the idea to create a leaf to nestle this precious shoe in. This leaf represents universal love as expressed through nature. I believe that we are all spirit beings choosing to experience physical life. Some of us come for a short time, some longer, and some stay a very long time. We leave behind our physical bodies in many different ways, but the essence of us continues to exist.You are and always will be.
