There was an old woman who lived in a shoe.
She had so many children she didn/t know what to do.
She gave them some broth, without any bread.
Then whipped them soundly and sent them to bed.
-This nursery rhyme is a part of our culture. And unfortunately so is war.
War affects us and of course our children. The neglect and abuse of the children in the rhyme remind me of the children who do not deserve to be punished because of another/s inability to handle a situation. We suffer during war because our leaders cannot find a solution. Our children suffer for the same reason.
Apparently we don/t know what to do either.
