Our children always need these things, but especially those children who have suffered the ravages of war. As we love and support them in our hands we offer a rainbow of HOPE, a heart of LOVE and a dove of PEACE. May they always find peace profound. (The work on this shoe is called quilling, an art dating from the thirteenth century when nuns cut paper, curled on a feather and covered the design in gold.)
