Judy Elliot, Parksville

A Soft Place to Land. When I first began thinking of what to do with the shoes, I thought that I would knit something to enclose it. Then I thought I didn/t want to enclose the shoe, I wanted it to be seen. I tried to make a bit of a platform for the shoe, so that it would be noticed, but I also wanted to surround it with a strong and warm network. I chose wool to make this platform because it is strong and warm, yet soft. A place to land when there is trouble, somewhere that we feel we are protected against danger.
